Grotto Network - University of Notre Dame

Grotto Network was launched in 2017 as a multimedia, cross-platform community aimed at inspiring young adults into a life of deeper faith, service to the marginalized, and community with others. The program was designed to breakout of traditional religious communications and Church dogma, offering a new voice and community for disaffected young people.

In its seven years, Grotto Network emerged as a leading voice in the broader faith-based media environment. Grotto set itself apart through its high-quality content, inclusive tone, and engaging social media — always rooting itself in the needs and behaviors of its target audience.

Highlights and key achievements include:

#Grotto Voices - Social Media Campaign

Creative Director

Using community-submitted responses to a simple prompt, Grotto Network was able to give voice to a wide range of marginalized voices within the greater Catholic community. The campaign was initially designed to give voice to LGBT+ Catholics, but quickly grew to represent a wider array of marginalized experiences following its initial success and reception on social media.

The premise was simple - offer a blank template for followers to fill out, offering up their fear and hope. Response to these prompts proved overwhelmingly positive, allowing disaffected young people to find greater community within Grotto Network’s online platforms.

Campaign was recognized in 2023 by the Catholic Media Awards as “Best Social Media Campaign” of the year.


#ABetterLight - Digital Campaign, 2020

Creative Director - Senior Producer
Launched in response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, #ABetterLight was a cross-platform, multimedia campaign aimed at supporting the mental health of young people through a variety of digital downloads, social media content, advice from therapists, and more.

The campaign leveraged organic SEO strategy, paid advertising, and partnerships with the Hallow App in an effort to better support our audience while also increasing followers across social media.

The campaign led to an increase of 1,500 new followers across Grotto’s social media channels, 20,000+ video views across platforms, and growth in brand awareness for Grotto Network as a platform deeply committed to the real world needs of young people.


@GrottoChicago: Grassroots Campaign

@GrottoChicago was launched in 2021 as a community-based effort to connect young adults in Chicago with communities of faith and service. Born out of the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic, @GrottoChicago is an inclusive, welcoming community built off direct engagement with graduating college seniors, playful social media content, and partnerships with community partners across Chicago. The project leveraged in-person activations, paid-advertising, and social media to build a robust community.

  • 12,000+ Instagram followers, surpassing all other Catholic accounts in the city of Chicago

  • 100,000+ video views on Instagram Reels

  • 700+ in-person community members at social events, service opportunities, and spiritual gatherings
